If you’re like me at all you’ve probably run across a font or two in your time that you haven’t been able to identify. This can definitely be frustrating and I know I’ve spent plenty of time searching in vane through my font library to find a match. Well here’s a quick, helpful solution to such problems.

WhatTheFont offers a free online service to help you identify fonts. You can upload a graphic or point to a URL of the graphic in question. Their software breaks down each letter of the graphic and compares it to fonts it has in it’s database and points you in the direction of either the font in question, or something similar in look to it. If the software option fails, there is a forum where you can pose font related questions to other users and see if they can help you out. It’s quite a handy little website.
